Agra Precision Engineering Co. Ltd. was established in 1963 with the purpose of providing a specialist machining service to the Motor Trade. The Company expanded and moved to its present premises extending to 7800 square feet in 1980. Still specialising in the motor trade the Company also undertakes light engineering work to a variety of clients from textile mills to oil rigs.

The Company are committed to maintaining an auditable quality system that complies with ISO 9002:1994. Employees are actively encouraged to suggest improvements to the Quality System. It is mandatory for all employees to perform all work in accordance with the Quality System.

Engineering
Our well equipped machine shop can carry out a wide array of engineering tasks that include:

Engine Testing
Our engine testing facility caters for all engines large and small. We have three dynometers which allow us to test and tune anything from a 50cc two stroke engine to a 500HP V8.

So whether its fault meeting running in or high performance tuning we have the equipment, technology and experience to cater for your needs.

Gear Cutting Department
The gear cutting department was established many years ago when we bought over Gilchrist Bros.

This department specialises in one-offs and can tailor make gears to your exact specifications. 

We have the capabilities to produce:

Vintage Engines

Thanks largely to the skills of our engineers our vintage department can cater for almost any vehicle.

We carry out engineering work for many restoration specialists not to mention the high volume of work we receive from enthusiasts across the country.

Our extensive experience has seen us work on; Rolls Royce Phantoms, Aston Martins, Riley's, Bentleys and Ferrari's to name but a few.

We also do competition work on vintage vehicles. One of our recent triumphs was the Frazer Nash project turning a fairly mundane unreliable 47HP engine into a class winning 107HP machine.

We have the expertise to handle any work from minor repairs to full refurbishment on almost any vintage vehicle engine.

We have worked on vehicles from a Ford Model "T" to a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, A 1902 Gladiator, A 1926 Meadows fitted to a Frazer Nash & many more.

Parts Department

Our parts department pride themselves on their ability to provide hard to find items due to our huge lists of suppliers and services.

We can usually source parts for anything whether its a 1903 Gladiator or a 2002 Nissan Skyline import.

We also provide tailored estimates for custom development engines. Each job is costed on an individual / unique basis.

We are more than happy to advise on any projects/problems where the customer is experiencing difficulty or is unsure which is the best direction to take.
